Monroe County Justice Coordinating Council (MCJCC)

Webpage is currently a work in progress as this committee works on updating its goals and objectives.

The Monroe County Coordinating Justice Coordinating Council brings stakeholders in the criminal justice system together on a regular basis to discuss issues affecting the criminal justice system, resolve problems, and plan for the future. It acts in an advisory capacity to the Monroe County Public Safety and Justice Coordinating Committee which is the committee of jurisdiction for many of the departments that address issues affecting the criminal justice system.

The MCJCC participates in the following endeavors: Increase communication; make suggestions for more efficient use of resources; make suggestions to provide better outcomes for justice system users, their families, and the public at large; provide ongoing oversight for new or alternative programs; provide suggestions for coordination across departments and budget areas; strives to eliminate duplication; enhance public safety; and continue to make the recommendations for alternatives to incarceration that may help in reducing the average daily population at the jail while providing program and the opportunity to change. With the ultimate goal of reducing the recidivism for the Monroe County thereby encouraging happier and healthier families.

MCJCC Meetings are open to the public and citizens are encouraged to attend.  Meetings occur bimonthly on the 4^th Thursday of the month from noon to 1 p.m., in Monroe County Board Assembly Room located at 210 W Oak St, RM 1200 Sparta, WI 54656.
