Meetings will be held the first Wednesday of the following months in 2026: February, April, June, September & December.

Join us for this FREE half-day event presenting speakers, exhibits, and testimonials!
Coffee, pastries, and lunch will be provided.
Registration begins at 8:30am, walk-ins are welcomed.
This event will be funded by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection's Producer-Led Watershed Protection Grant Program received by the Friends of the Little La Crosse Watershed Group.
SPEAKER HIGHLIGHTS:
Jed Meunier - Fire Ecology
Jed Meunier is an ecologist and research scientist within the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources in collaboration with the University of Minnesota. His work relates to the conservation and sustainable management of natural resources.
Sheri Schwert -Ag & Water Quality
Sheri is the Agriculture Water Quality Outreach Specialist for southwest Wisconsin. Sheri works with farmers, conservation staff and agriculture advisors in the Driftless Region to increase knowledge and understanding of how farming practices affect water quality. She specializes in delivering outreach on the impacts of climate change and extreme weather on agriculture and water quality, the benefits of edge-of-field conservation practices, and soil test phosphorus and the prevalence of phosphorus stratification.
Josh Bendorf - Climate Trends
Josh Bendorf is a Climate Outreach Specialist for the Center of Climatic Research at the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies. Josh’s primary role with the State Climatology Office is to work with the UW—Madison’s Division of Extension to conduct outreach programming that will increase the understanding of Wisconsin’s climate and the impacts of climate on Wisconsin residents.
Landon Baumgartner - Soil Health
Landon Baumgartner is with UW-Madison Division of Extension, serving as an Outreach Specialist for the broader Driftless Region on nutrient and pest management. Landon originates from a family of former dairy/grain farmers and hoof trimmers before moving on to study Environmental Science while working at small specialty crop operations. Landon has worked in soil and water conservation at the Federal, State, and Local levels for 10 years, across 2 states and hundreds of farms of all kinds.
