Wisconsin's Approved Broadband Proposal Unlocks Over $1 Billion in Funding for Broadband
The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) approved Wisconsin's Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) proposal submitted by the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin.
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) allocated over $1 Billion to Wisconsin to help expand access to high-speed internet to more than 175,000 homes and businesses across the state.
Monroe County will receive over $25 million to provide high-speed broadband access to 6,124 locations. Five (5) internet service providers (ISPs) were awarded to provide fiber, fixed wireless, and satellite broadband service.
Wisconsin BEAD Awardee Map shows the eligible locations that will receive funding and the local service provider and technology type.
Wisconsin Broadband Office provides information about the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program.
