The mission of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is to continually promote, preserve and deliver a feeling of safety, accountability and service to the County of Monroe.

Jail Information:  Visiting hours are Wednesday 7 – 9:30 p.m., Saturday 1 – 3:30 p.m. and Sunday 1 – 3:30 p.m.  You must be over the age of 18 and have photo identification.  Medication and money (no personal checks) for inmates may be dropped off at any time.  Inmates are allowed to bring 3 sets of whites (3 white t-shirts, 3 white underwear and 3 white socks) into the jail.  Contact the jail at 608-269-8759 for more information.  The fax number for the jail is 608-269-2164.

Accident Report Requests

• Accident reports can be requested by mailing a self addressed stamped envelope, along with your request, to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, 210 W. Oak St., Sparta, Wisconsin 54656 and including the required fee. Typical reports are charged $1.00, however, additional reports or statements are charged $1.00 per page. You may contact the Sheriff’s Office by telephone to confirm the cost. The number is 608-269-2117.  Reports can also be forwarded, free of charge, via email.  Please email your request to sheriff.reports@co.monroe.wi.us.

Civil Process Fees

• Civil Process requests can be made to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, 210 W. Oak Street, Sparta, Wisconsin. The fee for service is $40 for each attempt. An initial deposit of $120, cash, certified check or money order, is required. Any questions can be directed to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office at 608-269-2117.
