Committee Duties:

Develop, present and make recommendations to the appropriate committee of jurisdiction for approval of County policies on energy conservation practices and programs.


Make recommendations regarding utilization of programs, program incentives and grants to maximize County energy conservation.
--Evaluate the feasibility of the proposed Solid Waste Dept. Gas/Food Waste Diversion Project. Make recommendations to the Solid Waste Committee and the County Board considering operational mandates, cost/benefit analysis, financial implications and financing options based on evaluation findings.
--Evaluate the feasibility of the proposed WTC Hydroelectric Project at the Angelo Dam. Make recommendations to the Highway Commission and the County Board considering operational mandates, cost/benefit analysis, financial implications and financing options based on evaluation findings.
--Identify and recommend to the appropriate committee of jurisdiction partners and resources available to advise, guide and support County energy conservation practices in the most cost effective manner possible.


Facilitate development of agreement(s) and implementation
timeline(s) with project partners.


Review County liability implications as they may relate to proposed projects.


Review related County Ordinances and recommend revisions to appropriate committee of jurisdiction and Administrative / Executive Committee.


Committee duties and responsibilities to expire upon adoption of the 2011 Monroe County Annual Budget.
